Position Description
The Art Director is responsible for translating complex consumer and business needs into simple and elegant design solutions that are industry-leading and brand-defining. He/she will collaborate, develop solutions, and make recommendations based on experience, user research, marketing strategy, business partner input, and industry best practices. This position reports directly to a Manager on the Marketing Creative team.

- Solid understanding of design processes and ability to balance customer needs with business goals in developing solutions 
- Ability to convert ideas quickly into concepts/prototypes 
- Ability to perform design critiques and supply objective feedback to designers 
- Strong critical thinking and analysis skills 
- Strong knowledge of graphic design including typography, color, concept, and layout 
- Experience designing solutions for web, mobile, and print 
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships 
 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year college degree (Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Marketing, Communication, Graphic Design, Digital/Web Design, etc.) 
- Five or more years of creative design experience preferred in an agency or in-house creative department 
- Portfolio or work samples showcasing creativity and depth of thought coupled with fluency in best practices for Graphic Design/Art Direction 
- Computer/software skills: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) 
- Have an understanding of: 
o Motion Design/After Effects (animation, etc.)
o Google Web Designer
o Experience in digital advertising and email/web design is a plus
o User Interface/User Experience design experience a plus
o Design principles
o Prototyping methods and tools
o Web technology
o User-centered design process
o Presentation methods
o Collaboration techniques/tools experience a plus
